Maury Christie, LMT, GCFT, is a NY State-licensed massage therapist, Guild-Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner, and osteopathic manual therapist.
He began in the field in 1989, graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1993, and became a Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Teacher in 1998. He has spent the past 20 years helping athletes, performers, and the rest of us, resolve complex injuries and improve sport, musical, and dance performance.
A musician, singer, dancer, martial artist, and kayaker, he enjoys helping others enhance their daily lives and improve, enjoy, and extend their careers in sports and artistic activity. He sees the mundane activities of daily life as opportunities for improving and enhancing our entire realm of expression and overall health.
Maury began his career in 1989 as an assistant in a unique physical therapy practice, East Physical Therapy, in Manhattan’s East Village. He was inspired by his work and the things he learned there to go to massage school in 1992. Maury graduated the Swedish Institute’s Massage Therapy Program in January 1993, and was licensed in New York State in April of the same year.
He later began work on his 4 – year Feldenkrais Method® Professional Training, and received FGNA Certification as a practitioner in 1998. He also studied myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and Dr. Bruno Chickely’s Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, while gaining valuable experience, practice, and training as he continued as a therapist and partner at East Physical Therapy.
Since 2005, when Maury opened his own massage / Feldenkrais® practice, MaurLife Therapeutics, LLC, on Broadway in the Flatiron District, he has been having the time of his life, helping others get more out of theirs.
